Camp Champion Sponsor Helpful Information


We will have a required sponsor/teacher meeting on Sunday, June 26 at 9:00 pm in the CLH in the AH.

Background Check

To better protect our campers, we are conducting background checks on all volunteers. This includes teachers, sponsors, spouses and interns. Information required for the background checks will be collected during the registration process. Sponsors that arrive without background checks will not be able to participate or help in class presentations until a background check is complete. You can go to this link to fill out the form online: https://lubbockchristianuniversity.quickapp.pro/ and chose volunteer or you can print the Background Check form that came with your confirmation email and return to the office within 10 days.

Check-in/Check-out

Check-in is on Sunday, June 26 at Katie Rogers from 2:00-5:00. All housing will be in Katie Rogers for Champion. Check-out is Friday, July 1 at 9:30 am after the end of week slide show presentation.

End of the Week Video

We will have an End of the Week Video in the McDonald Moody Auditorium at 9:00 am. Parents are welcome to attend.

Camper Photo

We will require a wallet-sized photo of all campers. In case of an emergency, this photo will help us more easily identify participants.

Camper Balances

Final payment for all campers is due two weeks prior to camp. Please notify the camp office if you have a question. Deposits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.

Dress Code

Our camp facility, Lubbock Christian University, has an expectation of modest attire for all staff, students and community. As a camp, we honor that policy. Please read the details that apply to our camps. All of the rules apply to guys and girls.

Camp Staff will make every effort to implement this policy in accordance with the stated expectations.

Photo-Video

As a participant, campers may be photographed or filmed during normal activities by a member of LCU’s Camp media team. These photos/videos may be used without compensation in promotional materials or other publications including the camp website (lcucamps.com) to illustrate and promote the camp experience and its’ programs.

Sponsor Fees / Meals

All sponsors must register online and pay the sponsorship fee of $155 (with meals) or $100 without meals. If you do not sign up for meals at the time of registration, and decide to eat in the Cafeteria, you can pay per meal. The cost for breakfast is $7.50 and lunch and dinner is $8.50. You can pay at the cafeteria door.

Housing

We try to house sponsors on campus for Champion but it is based upon availability. If you need housing you must notify the camp office prior to arrival so we can make arrangements.

Taking Campers Off-Campus

For continuity and safety, all camps are closed campus. Campers are not allowed to leave campus. Should you need to take a camper off-campus you must sign-out in the Camp Office, which is located in room 108 in the Student Union Building.

Camper Mail

Camper mail is delivered daily. Remember that mail will take a few days to travel so please do not mail letters near the end of the week. Address letter to:

Miscellaneous Information

Sponsors are welcome to attend any of the classes, however please be observant when going to classes.

Sponsors are not allowed in the dorms after lights out. Please remember that you are expected to uphold all the rules of the camp and notify the Director of Camp if you have any problems. Sponsors are not allowed in the hallways or camper rooms at any time.
