What To Bring

Bible, sleeping bag or bedding for twin bed, toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.), towels.

Optional Items: Sports equipment, room fan, alarm clock, camera, sunscreen, $20-$25 personal money for Starbucks or Chapstore. Please identify your belongings with your name.

Please do not bring expensive electronic equipment. We do our best to secure dorm rooms throughout the week, but LCU will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items.

Check-in for Encounter will be in the Baker Conference Center, Sunday 2-5pm.

Everyone will check-in at the Baker Conference Center then proceed to get their room assignments. Girls will stay in Katie Rogers and the boys will stay in Johnson Hall. There will be 3 to a room so please plan accordingly. They will turn in their roommate request when they check-in at the dorm.

If you arrive after 5:00 pm on Sunday, you will register in the McDonald Moody foyer after the Keynote speaker.

Checkout is between 8-9am Friday morning at your resident hall. You must check out with your counselor the morning camp closes. You will be responsible for any additional repair costs to damaged rooms.

Each camper’s balance is due by June 1. All balances must be paid before arriving at the camp. Please contact the camp office if you have an outstanding balance. Deposits are nonrefundable and cannot be transferred. If a camper does not attend camp and has not notified the camp office 48 hours prior to the first day of camp, the entire tuition, including the deposit, will be forfeited.

• Acknowledge and honor the LCU dress code.

Our camp facility, Lubbock Christian University, has an expectation of modest attire for all staff, students and community. As a camp, we honor that policy. Please read the details that apply to our camps. All of the rules apply to guys and girls.

• Dress should be modest.
• These items are not acceptable: halter tops, bare midriffs, and revealing skirts and shorts.
• No loose-fitting tank tops for guys or girls. Undergarments should not be seen at any time.
• No short shorts. If you are wearing shorts, we feel are inappropriate we will have long athletic shorts for you to change into.
• Clothing with inappropriate advertising, pictures, and/or sayings that are contrary to the mission and Christian standards of LCU is prohibited.
• Campers, staff and volunteers will be asked to return to their room and change any clothing that is inappropriate.

Camp Staff will make every effort to implement this policy in accordance with the stated expectations.

We will need your flight information if you need airport transportation two weeks prior to camp. Remember that check out time is 9:00 am on Friday so plan your flight accordingly.

Any prescribed medication to be taken at camp should be prepared in the following manner: 1) placed in a plastic bag with specific instructions, 2) clearly labeled with camper’s name, and 3) turned in to camp nurse at registration.

Camper mail is delivered daily. Remember that mail will take a few days to travel so please do not mail letters near the end of the week. Address letter to:

1. For continuity and safety, all camps are closed campus. Campers are not allowed to leave campus and no parents or visitors are allowed in the dorms or on campus.
2. Any illness or accident should be reported to your counselor as soon as possible. A nurse is on duty throughout the week.
3. Tobacco, alcohol, drugs and weapons are not permitted on the LCU campus or anywhere camp goes as a group.
4. We reserve the right to confiscate anything we feel necessary and retain it at our discretion.
5. Roller blades and skateboards will not be allowed at camp, not even for transportation or use during Free Time. These items will be confiscated and returned at the end of camp.
6. Camp personnel reserve the right to remove anyone from campus for disorderly conduct, lack of cooperation or violation of guidelines. No refunds will be given.
7. Cell phones will be permitted but will be required to remain put up during classes and keynote sessions. We reserve the right to confiscate their phone until the end of camp if out during sessions.

As a participant, campers may be photographed or filmed during normal activities by a member of LCU’s Camp media team. These photos/videos may be used without compensation in promotional materials or other publications including the camp website (www.lcucamps.com) to illustrate and promote the camp experience and its’ programs.
